Odelia and I attended our first baby sensory class this week We were both greeted with a very warm welcome from Jo.
The first part of the session consisted of a hello song, which Jo also does in sign language and is easy to pick up. Each week there is a theme. This week was a “French” theme and we sang songs with rattles.
In the second part of the class, you move to a large area set up with sensory activities such as baby walkers, sensory trays and play mats etc. Odelia’s favourite was the big bouncy bed covered in shiny items and soft cuddly rugs. The whole experience was so relaxed and you can chat to other mums and let your babies be free in a safe and secure environment.
Odelia did need a feed during the class which wasn’t a problem at all.
The final part of the class, which was my personal favourite, was when the parachute came out. Jo filled it with balloons, petals and even turned the lights out and did a song in the dark with disco ball lights.
I honestly feel Odelia has gained so much from these classes from fine motor skills to eye coordination and I have also made alot of friends.
I would highly recommend.
