Summer Family Fun

Come rain or shine you’ll find lots to keep the whole family entertained at Beck Isle Museum. Explore the museum as you solve our summer trail, take part in craft activities and play traditional games. Relax in our sunny courtyard with a drink or bring a picnic to have by our beautiful beckside. Included in admission price.

Time Travellers

11-3pm Every Tuesday from 25 July until 29 August 11-3pm

Looking for something different to do in the holidays? Why not visit the museum and try your hand at one of our drop-in activities inspired by our amazing collections. You’ll also find tricky trails, traditional games, craft activities and a beautiful picnic spot by the beck. Fun for all the family.Included in admission price.

Tuesday 25 July 11-3pm Victorian Wash Day

Dress up and join Molly the laundry maid in this hands-on activity to find out what life was like before the invention of the washing machine. They’ll also be the chance to see how we used to make butter and when you’ve finished all the hard work why not have a play with some of our traditional old toys. Included in admission price.

1 August 11-3pm Get Crafty

Families can enjoy working together to create a hand quilled card or they can learn the skills needed to recycle scraps of material to make a rag rug. Included in admission price.

8  August 11-3pm Weave Away!

Create a simple mat from recycled scraps or a paper basket as you learn simple weaving techniques. Suitable for all ages. Included in the admission price.

15  August 11-3pm Bee Inspired!

Follow our bumble bee trail around the museum, spot real bees in our bee garden, learn how we make honey and try our tricky bee quizzes. Then bee inspired to create your own bee print. Included in admission price.

22 August 11-3pm Dip Pen Postcards

Create a beautiful postcard of your dream day trip and then practice using a dip pen and ink to write your message. Included in admission price.
