Brymor Ice Cream has taken over the running of the award-winning Easingwold Maize Maze for the 2018 season. The 16-acre maize maze is home to the confusing maze puzzle which is great fun for all ages!
Running until 2nd September. Northern roundabout (A19), YO61
We have received this lovely review from a Mumbler that I thought I would share with you to help you plan your holidays and days out. As she enjoyed her day out, she wrote about what she could see…
“A lovely sunny day and families have planned ahead and are waiting for the gates to open at 10am and the children run off into the large open spaces, while the adults purchase their hot beverage of choice. (The Drink Stop is making a few appearances over the Summer holidays on Bank Holiday Saturday and Monday). When they aren’t there, the kiosk where you pay serves instant tea, coffee and hot chocolate and soft drinks. Hot food from Jane’s Kitchen, locally sourced burgers and hot dogs or just a portion of chips.
A giant sandpit with lots of buckets and spades sits next to the picnic area so children are easily visible while you sit and relax.
The gentle sound of the Alpacas and goats on your other side.
Little tournaments are taking place within family groups round the swing ball while some of the older children are racing parents and grandparents around the go kart track!!! There is a track for over 8 year olds and another for 8 and unders.
The bouncing castles and slides are a big hit as always with young and old children alike, while the pets corner gives children a good opportunity to get up close and personal with the animals.
The Maize is now well over 8 ft tall so there is plenty of fun to be had making your way to the middle and finding your way out again!! Perhaps grab a Brymor ice cream before you enter for sustenance!!!! You can even take the Go-Karts in!
Rosie cheeked children eat picnics or grab a hot bite from the catering van after a kick about on the football pitch with friends.
Dogs are also enjoying the fun day out with a few marquees offering shade and a rest from the heat.
It is a great day out when the weather is fine. Marquees provide cover for a rain shower however it does tend to close if rain is set in due to health and safety on bouncy castles.
As with all places, one negative is the wasps but they had moved bins away to one side to move wasps away from seating areas.”
This is a nice day out and handy, being on the A19.
As well as the maize, other activities include foot-golf, go karts, giant inflatable slide, sand pits, picnic, and the ever popular pygmy goats , Alpacas, rabbits and guinea pigs.
