Andrew is one of the country’s foremost authorities on walking – regularly writing for BBC Countryfile, Discover Britain, the AA Guide to Yorkshire, appearing on BBC local radio and since 2010 he has written, presented and produced his own series Walks Around Britain.
Especially for Ryedale Book Festival Andrew has agreed to lead a six mile walk along a section of the Wolds Way from East Heslerton to Scampston Park, near Rillington taking approximately two and a half hours. Don’t worry if you are visiting Ryedale without a car because a shuttle bus will be leaving Malton Town Centre at 10.00 am. Alternatively you can make your own way to the start of the walk, which will finish at Malton Show.
Tickets for the walk include entrance to Malton Show and use of the shuttle bus to the meeting point and from Scampston Park back to Malton. For more information about Malton’s traditional agricultural show please visit www.maltonshow.com.
Tickets £15 for adults, which includes admission to Malton Show and transport back to Malton town centre. Children 5-17 are £5 and free for children under five.
