We are delighted to have the full line-up for the #HungryLittleMinds Digital Family Day which is taking place on Wednesday 3 February at 10 am – 12.45 pm on Zoom (details on how to get involved are below). The event is suitable for children aged 0-5 and their parents and carers. Nursery settings are also welcome to take part.
The line-up is as follows:
- 10:00 – The National Literacy Trust’s Chief Executive Jonathan Douglas will start the session with a story (live from London)
- 10:10 – Author and illustrator Nick Sharratt will be reading, singing and doing a special draw-a-long from, ‘The Whales on the Bus’ written by Katrina Charman and illustrated by Nick himself! (From Brighton)
- 10:30 – Gaganpreet will be reading ‘The Snail and the Whale’ written by Julia Donaldson (from Birmingham)
- 10:45 – What’s in the rhyming bag? With Lisa in Peterborough
- 11:00 – Story and rhyme session with Anish in Swindon
- 11:15 – Music, nursery rhymes and singing with Martyn the Music Man in Middlesbrough
- 11:30 – Rainbow Science with Gemma from CaVCA on the North Yorkshire Coast
- 11:45 – Sea creature messy play with Jess in Manchester
- 12:00 – Music and sing-a-long with Claire and Elle Cato from the Institute of Wellbeing in Croydon
- 12:15 – Make your own DIY book with Jemma from the Foundation Years Trust in The Wirral
- 12:30 – Scavenger hunt with Ella in Brighton
- 12:45 – Ends
There will also be opportunities to win special prizes throughout the day.
Suggested resources to bring along to the session:
- Pencils and paper (for draw-a-long with Nick Sharratt at 10.10 am)
- Skittles, milk, food colours, washing up liquid, cotton wool buds, bicarbonate of soda vinegar, freezer bag and pencils (for Rainbow Science with Gemma at 11.30)
- Paper, paint, items to dip into the paint for example, leaves, toilet roll, a stick, a potato (for Sea Creature Messy Play at 11.45)
- Pencils, crayons, felt tips, paper, card, scissors, glue, photos, old magazines, string, hole punch or stapler (For Make your own DIY book with Jemma at 12.15)
