Mountain Rescue in England and Wales: Stories from 30 years of service

May 14, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Andrew Priestley became a member of his local Mountain Rescue team almost 30 years ago. For this community talk Andrew will provide a personal account of life as a volunteer for this important rescue service and will tell us how he has seen his role- and the service- change over that time. Expect fascinating stories of danger, bravery and adventure during his decades long commitment to Mountain Rescue England and Wales.

Andrew is a father of two sons (one current and one past pupil of Langton) and works as a Project Manager for a local business. He is Parent Governor and Chair of the Governing Board at Langton Primary School. He has had a life-long love of hill walking and mountaineering.

Please come along and support this community event, which will support the fundraising efforts of the Friends of Langton School (FoLS) for the benefit of pupils and the local community.

Doors open at 18:30 and the talk will start at 19:00, lasting for approximately 45 minutes. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Complimentary cheese board and glass of wine (and non-alcoholic alternatives). Please arrive in plenty of time for good seats and to help yourself to refreshments. There will also be a fundraising raffle in support of Mountain Rescue England and Wales, so please bring some extra pennies!

Plenty of parking in the village. Please drive safely and park courteously in our village.
