Following the success of our 10 Reasons Why, we have posted a blog helping you prepare for Open Day!
Preparation is Key
Visit school websites and read their prospectuses. Prepare a checklist and questions. What do you wish to get out of this visit?
Don’t Forget your Child(ren)
Your child’s feedback is a crucial part of visiting a school. How do they feel and what do they think of the pupils and the teachers?
Talk and Ask Questions
What makes this school stand out? Are children happy at this school? What type of after-school activities are available?
Don’t be Afraid
Ask the tough questions! The school’s anti-bullying policy, its diversity policy, its measures to promote mental well-being and so on.
Plan a Wash-up
Some talk about it in the car and some discuss it over dinner. Some write pros and cons lists. Plan a time to talk about your experience.
Sleep Easy
The Open Day is one step in the process. Afterwards, pick up the phone, speak to Admissions and arrange another visit.
