Listening to Trees
Have you ever wondered what a tree sounds like inside? Come and hear the inner workings of a tree through the wonders of modern technology. Acoustics can tell us much about a tree’s health – from the stealthy munching of a beetle grub to a weak branch union, but also provide an insight into the dynamic nature of wood as it flexes in the wind.
Dave Chesmore will explain all on Sunday 28 October, or you can join us as we listen and record sounds at other trees this week. A chorus of tree sounds will be available to listen to all week.
During opening hours. Suitable for all
