The zoo at Sewerby Hall and Gardens now runs fun workshops at weekends offering children and families the chance to help animals and birds, try crafts, and learn new fun skills!
January will see a range of workshops, all held in the zoo between 11.30am and 12 noon.
The workshops will cover :
Saturday, 12 January – Bug Hotels
Sunday, 13 January – Fruit Kebabs
Saturday, 26 January – Fat Balls to feed garden birds
Sunday, 27 January – Fruit Kebabs
Descriptions of the workshops are as follows:
Fat Balls – Come along and join the zoo team and make nutritious fat balls for the local wild birds. Participants can take the fat balls home with them and put them in the garden to encourage local wildlife.
Fruit Kebabs – Come along and join the zoo team and put together some fruit and vegetable kebabs. The zoo keepers will then place them in the enclosures for the animals to eat.
The zoo workshops are included in the normal zoo admission charges at Sewerby Hall and Gardens : adult tickets for the zoo only are £3.50 and children’s tickets are £2.50. Family tickets are also available at £11. At weekends, customers can also buy combined tickets for the house and zoo : adult combined tickets are £6; combined tickets for children are £4; and the combined family tickets are £19.
