Dalby Forest, Yorkshire – The Adderson Rigg trail (1.5 miles)
Head into Dalby forest and explore with your senses the naturally sculpted Adderstone on this gentle walk. The trail follows forest paths and roads through a variety of woodland allowing you the opportunity to ease your stress. You will be met and awakened with stunning views over the forest.
Dalby – Ellerburn trail (Short route 1.7 miles, longer route 2.8 miles)
The Ellerburn Trail is a multi-user pathway for disabled cyclists, walkers, and wheelchair users as well as being a safe and accessible route for children learning to ride a bike and parents with pushchairs. Running alongside a beck, the quiet tranquillity will absorb you, along with the gentle trickle of the beck and the sweet song of birds.
A short detour takes you to Ellerburn Pond and Bird Hide past the entrance to the bat hibernaculum (an artificial cave where bats can spend the winter).
Silton Forest (various routes available)
Nestled in the hills on the western edge of the North York Moors, Silton Forest is a great place for an energetic walk, peaceful picnic or breath of fresh air. Start your forest adventure from the Moor Lane Car Park and prepare for some blood pumping climbs. Trust us when we say the views are worth it!
By car turn east off the A19 approximately 7 miles north of Thirsk.
