Ryan Swain and Frank Lamingo are celebrating 5 years in entertainment together by putting on a one off spectacular show at The Milton Rooms in Malton on Sunday 2nd June at 2:30pm. This year marks 5 years since Ryan introduced Frank Lamingo to the world. He was initially created as a time filler for Ryan who worked as a coast-style entertainer at Flamingo Land to warm up audiences for live artists at events. Frank was created in 2013 by puppeteer Phil Fletcher who is a renowned within the industry and is best known for creating Hack T Dog on CBBC. Frank has also warmed up for numerous celebrity acts and he opened up Flamingo Land’s newest attraction The Pirates Of Zanibar with Katie Price in 2016. She described Frank as one of the funniest and cutest things she’s seen for ages.
The live show features, high energy comedy, dancing, singing and lots of prize give-aways, it is aimed at children and families of all ages. Ryan and Frank Lamingo were once a main attraction at the North Easts top theme park Flamingo Land Resort and performed their hit songs “Stand On One Leg Sometimes” and “Flappy” at the parks popular Party In The Park concerts regularly. Frank Lamingo was also featured on the adverts for Britain’s Got Talent and were shown on Series 11 as a cameo.
Ryan will be supported by BBC Radio York and All Together Now’s – Ionica Adrianna who will be singing live, showcasing her beautiful renditions of fairy-tale songs and pop hits live on stage.
Ryan will be kindly donating his half of ticket sales to the Freddie’s Fight campaign The Thompson family of Ampleforth are trying to raise £250,000 to send three-year-old Freddie to America for treatment that could reduce the chances of his potentially fatal cancer returning.
Freddie was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma last summer and has undergone surgery and subsequent treatment, but it has a high chance of returning. Ryan has also invited Freddie and his family to attend the show and be his special VIPs hopefully on the day. There will also be various fundraising stalls, raffles, refreshments and merchandise available on the day. And is currently appealing for raffle prizes from business across the North East.
