The Three Inch Fools take to the road with five actors, all manner of musical instruments and an inventive take on Shakespeare’s most famous story, Romeo & Juliet.
The Fools are dusting off their instruments and stepping back into the great outdoors, with a brand new production of Romeo & Juliet. Prepare for a carnival of passion and imagination, as The Fools present the world’s best-known love story at some of the most beautiful and historic landmarks in the UK.
Flotsam is soft, flexible, laid back. She slides and glides through life on the ice. Jetsam is the opposite, his insectile body in stiff and nervy, alert and watchful, suspicious of all in his forest home.
And then comes the weather… and they are both cast adrift in a world that is strange to them and full of a range of dangers. Finally washed up on the same island beach they must discover the other and work out how they can work together.
A hopeful, musical, visual adventure story with about two very different creatures who must learn to work together.
Prince Tamino has fallen madly in love with the beautiful Pamina, daughter of the Queen of the Night. All appears well in the kingdom, but look closer and you’ll notice there’s something strange afoot in this mythical world…
Much to the confusion of bird-catcher Papageno, birds are disappearing. Animals are no longer coming out to hear Tamino’s music. The magical world of flutes and dancing bells is changing, and it’s up to Tamino to do something about it before it’s too late!
Join a cast of three professional opera singers and an accordionist on a new whistle stop adventure this summer, inspired by Mozart’s popular work The Magic Flute. Suitable for all the family, this performance is sure to get everyone hooked on opera!
Copy: Over the last six years, The Three Inch Fools have specialised in bringing Shakespeare to life in innovative and unexpected ways, through bold story-telling and innovative sound-worlds. And now they are launching a brand new troupe, touring their first non-Shakespearean production – Robin Hood.
This year The Fools are looking forward to an incredible summer on the road traveling the length and breadth of the UK with their modern take on the traditional touring troupe. The Fools will perform come rain come shine in the great British outdoors at over 100 different venues across the UK – castles, gardens, stately homes, historic barns, National Trust properties, village greens, churches, cathedrals, museums, arts centres, and even a royal residence or two (indeed any place where five actors and an audience can fit!).
