Horrible Histories – Barmy Britain at The Grand Opera House, York running Thursday 21st to 24th October 2021.
What a show! We all really enjoyed it. The stories were brilliant covering Britain through the ages. There was plenty of audience interaction along the way. Of course, no trip to the theatre is complete without a singing competition! Our side definitely won! The different accents were brilliant, especially the appearance of Chris Tarrant on “Who Wants to Blow up Parliament”. Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn were very amusing and Queen Victoria’s song was definitely a favourite!
It was educational too!! Some of us didn’t know the story of Burke and Hare or the finer details of Dick Turpin – after all, every days a school day!
It was incredible because the two actors did it all by themselves, I give it 10/10 stars. My favourite part was Queen Boudicca because there was a hilarious song. It is a great performance for all ages, old or young. ( George,9)
It was amazing how the actors did with only 2 of them, it was a 10/10 performance with a great singalong. I loved the 3D glasses as it made the screen feel so realistic. It is a great theatre trip for the young the old (and maybe even the dead?!). ( Henry, 9)
It is hour and 45 mins including an interval. After the interval you have the fun of the 3 D glasses to look forward to. Both adults and kids loved it – we would highly recommend.
