What better way of choosing your perfect pumpkin, than actually choosing it from the field it was grown in?!

From Friday, you can wander the patch and pick the perfect pumpkin—no bookings required!

All shapes, sizes, and colors

£1.50 per person entry

A variety of pumpkins and gourds to choose from

The Farmshop, Café and children’s play area are all open, so there is plenty of things to do and enjoy.

7 days a week 9 am until 5 pm for the pumpkin picking.

The Castle Howard Garden Centre Pumpkin Patch is back for the fourth year running!

Explore the patch and choose your perfect pumpkin. Whether small, medium, or large, there are varying sizes and colours, perfect for carving, decorating and making the most of the spooky season.

Entry to the Pumpkin Patch is free. Pumpkin prices vary depending on size.

Head to the Garden Centre when you arrive and follow the signs for PYO pumpkins.

A ‘Pick your own flower’ farm in Skipton on Swale near Thirsk.  Our stunning meadow in the heart of North Yorkshire is a haven of well-being for all the family.  Offering Sunflowers & Wildflowers straight from the field.

Alongside the flower picking we offer photo shoots for £70, we have teamed up with JD Photography in Thirsk to make this happen.

We welcome small private groups to the flower meadow for picking flowers for weddings or hen do’s booking is essential.

We are catering for a local care home who bring residents out for an hour picking flowers.

We offer cold refreshments iced coffee and iced tea alongside Yorkshire Flapjack.

Eggs can be bought from Katie who has her own chickens on the farm.

Dogs are welcome if kept on a lead or you could have them in your photo shoot.

Our opening times are Sat Sun Bank Holiday Mondays 10am to 3pm. Mon to Fri is by appointment only 4pm to 8pm and a minimum spend of £10 vase.

Kemps farm, Barton-le-Street PYO is now open for strawberry and raspberry picking with sunflowers to follow as the summer progresses.

Our strawberries are grown on tabletops – no bending required to pick them – all outdoors, exposed to the Yorkshire weather so they ripen naturally adding to their flavour.   We grow different varieties of strawberries and raspberries so we can extend our picking season as long as possible.  By October our attention turns to PYO pumpkins, but you can see them now growing in the field.

We also have a small shop selling our own jam along with drinks and ice creams and as we are part of a working farm there are crops and livestock is adjacent fields to see – you may see our bulls Fred and Barney or perhaps our tractors and combine harvester working in the fields.

Opening times:

• Monday to Thursday 1pm to 5pm
• Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm

No booking required.  Updates are posted on Facebook and the website

Spilmans 12 Acre PYO 🍓strawberry patch is set in the middle of their family run farm. As well as the famous strawberries (and they really are delicious!), they also grow other seasonal summer soft fruits ripening all the time including raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries and even potatoes too! PLUS… Coming soon… the SUNFLOWER FIELDS will be opening again this year as well as a MAIZE MAIZE!
