Below is a list of all the local playgroups and drop in clinics throughout the week and also details of all the children’s activities classes available across our area. Please contact the organisers directly if you would like to find out further information or to confirm class times or costs.

Learning to swim is a key life skill for any child. Swimming lessons teach them independence, gives them the ability to get themselves out of potentially life-threatening situations, and allows them to get active while enjoying themselves.
Everyone Active’s swimming lessons start for children as young as 4 months old and are available for all ages. Choose from private one-to-one lessons, adult and child lessons, junior lessons or adult lessons. Students work towards badges and certificates, collecting them at each stage.

Our pre-school classes are specifically devised for boys and girls. The emphasis is on the development of co-ordination, discovery of mime and musicality, and group participation. The class is held in a fun environment which builds children’s confidence and self esteem for the future.
Dancing Tots’ are parent & toddler classes for 18 months plus. This class will enable your child to learn new skills through the use of movement to music, dance, singing, instruments, props, storytelling and drama. Water Babies is the world’s leading Baby and Toddler swim school, swimming over 50,000 babies per week.
We’ll teach you to teach your little one to swim, from lesson one we’ll get your little one used to the sensation of water, developing their natural instincts and transforming these into core aquatic skills. Throughout our programme we use lots of song, games, toys and sensory activities suitable to each child’s stage of development, ensuring both you and your little one are having lots of fun whilst having precious time together and developing new skills. We love welcoming families to our museum where you can step back in time to explore what life was like in this market town.
With family trails, hands-on activities, crafts and amazing exhibits you’ll find plenty to see and do for the whole family. When you’ve finished exploring the museum, why not have a picnic by the beck or potter into Pickering to explore the shops and cafes?
We have baby change facilities and somewhere for you to park your buggy while you explore upstairs at the museum.
Don’t forget that Under 5s are free and we offer a selection of family tickets. Tickets are valid for a year!
