We are on the hunt for experienced cooks for our friendly nurseries which are open all year round in Upper Poppleton, Stamford Bridge and Wilberfoss.
This role offers flexibility to anyone who is available to work 5 mornings each week (Mon-Fri) and we are happy to discuss start times to fit in with the school run or other commitments.
Hourly pay is £11.05 – £11.30 depending upon experience
28 Days holiday + additional days for long service
We also offer 40 – 60% discount on our Nursery and Out of School & Holiday Clubs all year round.
£200 Joining Bonus will be paid to successful applicants
You will be in charge of your own kitchen, producing healthy & wholesome lunches and light teas for the young children and staff team. If you love to cook, this is the role for you!
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Preparing and serving children’s meals which are interesting, healthy and seasonal, taken from menus set by you, as well as catering for all dietary requirements and needs.
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and associated stores.
Ordering all food and kitchen equipment, as well as maintaining monthly records for stock-taking purposes.
Ensuring all meal planning and food, cleaning supplies and other ordering is in line with the agreed budgets.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Essential – Catering experience, Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, Knowledge and experience of food preparation for special dietary needs and allergies
Desirable – A recognised Catering Qualification, Experience of working in a childcare environment
