Our service is led by Consultant Obstetrician and Clinical Lead Dr Jacqueline Tang (MBchB MRCOG PgDIP (US)). She has a special interest in fetal medicine and has an exceptionally high level of expertise in maternal and fetal conditions. At Yorkshire Baby Scan, Jackie regularly trains our experienced sonographers to ensure the service is up to date and using the latest research and guidance.
When you come to Yorkshire Baby Scan you will be seen by one of our Advanced Obstetric Sonographers, Kate Senior and Rachel Roberton. Kate is a very experienced obstetric sonographer who also works in the NHS. She’s not only an incredible sonographer, she’s also kind and welcoming; she really puts our mums-to-be at ease. Rachel also works in the NHS as an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer. Rachel’s main focus is obstetric scanning and she is really passionate about sonography. She always delivers our mums-to-be the very best standard of obstetric care and she’s an incredible asset to our service.
Kate and Rachel are supported by Tracey and Louise, our Maternity Support Workers. They’ll make you feel at ease during your visit and support you if there are any problems with your pregnancy. Tracey, our Lead Maternity Support Worker, brings decades of experience to our clinics – she’s worked in maternity settings for nearly 25 years and Louise has been bringing her empathetic and caring nature to parents-to-be since 2015.
A bit about our services
Being pregnant is a joyous and exciting time – in only a short period of time you’ll have a new addition to your family! We’re here to help guide you through your pregnancy journey and help you meet your baby for the first time on our large screen. You can also bring a partner, friend or family member with you to your scan for support.
We have a range of services at Yorkshire Baby Scan and you can choose the options that are best suited to you and your stage of pregnancy. Our services include:
Early Pregnancy Scan (£80)
At the early pregnancy scan we can confirm the presence of your baby’s heartbeat and confirm how many weeks you are pregnancy. This scan will give you reassurance that your baby is located safely in your womb and doing well.
Dating Scan (£90)
Our Dating Scan can be performed when you are between 11 and 14 weeks pregnant. This scan is an opportunity for you to meet your baby for the first time and find out your estimated due date.
Gender and Wellbeing scan (£65)
At this scan, our sonographers will assess your baby’s head, brain, face, heart, stomach, kidneys, bladder, abdominal wall, spine, upper and lower limbs and look at the fluid that surrounds your baby within the limits of your pregnancy gestation. This scan is also an opportunity to find out whether you’re expecting a baby boy or a baby girl!
Anatomy Scan (£150)
Our Anatomy Scan is an opportunity to check that your baby is growing well and that their anatomy is within normal parameters. Your sonographer will assess your baby’s head, brain, face, heart, stomach, kidneys, bladder, abdominal wall, spine, upper and lower limbs and look at the fluid that surrounds your baby within the limits of your pregnancy gestation.
4D Scan and Wellbeing check (£99)
Our 4D scan is the latest in ultrasound technology. It offers you an insight into your baby’s world – you’ll be able to see them moving around and get a glimpse as to what they will look like when they are born. Seeing your baby’s face helps you bond together and prepares you for your first meeting in a few months’ time.
Growth Scan (£69)
A growth scan is an opportunity to check that your baby is growing within normal parameters by measuring their head circumference, abdominal circumference and femur length. These measurements will give your sonographer the estimated weight of your baby.
Presentation Scan (£50)
As you near the end of your pregnancy, the presentation scan gives you peace of mind that all is well before the birth. Your sonographer will look at the presentation of your baby and how they are positioned in your womb and how much amniotic fluid is around them. They will also look at the blood flow from your baby in the umbilical artery doppler assessment.
At Yorkshire Baby Scan our focus is on the medical side of your pregnancy; we want to ensure that both you and baby are progressing within normal parameters. Therefore, we also offer an NIPT test and scan option (£450) from when you are 10 weeks pregnant. The Harmony Test (NIPT) is a non-invasive blood test that screens for specific chromosomal conditions in pregnancy – specifically Down’s syndrome, Edward’s syndrome and Patau’s syndrome. Our team will contact you with the results of your test and liaise with your NHS provider should further action be needed.
At all of our scans you will receive a printed medical report for your reference and four printed images of your baby for you to take away and share with your friends and family. We also offer an upgraded package (+£20) where you will receive all electronic copies of your scan photos on a USB stick.
