Last September, we popped for a night at Crows Nest Caravan Park….safe to say we loved it and it is on our doorstep so really easy!
What a wonderful location for a night away if you are local or to explore the east coast if you live further afield. Beautiful situation on the cliff tops.
On arriving, we walked to Cayton Bay along the Cleveland for a play on the beach and swim in the sea!
We ventured down to Gristhorpe Bay – AMAZING- we had it to ourselves. It is a scramble down the cliffs so it is not readily accessible and should only be tried when the weather conditions allow, being aware of the clay cliffs. Eliza was fine (5 at the time) but I personally wouldn’t want to take a smaller child down. The best thing was we saw seals and found the most beautiful devils toe nail fossil.
This was followed with a trip to Filey for lunch and to play on the beach! Lots of bodyboarding!
Crows Nest is a beautiful site – well kept with everything you would need including a play area, dog park, supermarket (with everything you may have forgotten), family bar, swimming pool (currently closed due to COVID-19) and fish and chips.
The field we were in, was amazing, right in the cliffs but there is another field if the weather isn’t as nice and you are worried about it being windy. We have loved it! Such a lovely weekend. What’s more Eliza and I won at Scrabble!
So nice to go for a night away just a short drive from home.
Situated on the beautiful Yorkshire coast between Scarborough and Filey. They have luxury caravans for hire, or you can bring your own touring caravan or tent.
