Sarah Tonge is the leader of the longest running rainbow unit in the area (30+ years) in Norton! Sadly, they are in very near danger of having to close the unit if they cannot increase their numbers before Christmas.
They have recently changed our meeting day to Tuesdays 4.45pm – 5.45pm to offer better provision, as previously all 3 local (Malton and Norton) units met on Wednesday nights. They have immediate availability for girls aged 5-7 to start in the UK’s largest ‘girl only club’. The 2 other local Rainbow units still meet on Wednesdays. There are also 5 Brownie units, 2 Guide and 1 Ranger unit who all meet on various days of the week but usually, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Girlguiding themselves have been running for well over 100 years now and takes the lead in providing a safe positive experience for all girls.
Sarah would like to ask you to tell your friends and family about this wonderful cause and to encourage new members. All you need to do is register your interest on www.girlguiding.org.uk/join us and select 2nd Norton Rainbows as your first choice unit.
Rainbows is for all girls aged five to seven (four in Northern Ireland)
Rainbows learn by doing – they get their hands dirty, do sports, arts and crafts and play games. Being a Rainbow is all about having the space to try new things. Through taking part in a range of different activities with girls their own age, Rainbows develop self-confidence and make lots of new friends.
