Castle Howard Friends Scheme, opens up access to the house, gardens and outside spaces to children living in Ryedale.
The Friends of Castle Howard initiative has seen over 3000 new members take advantage of unlimited free entry to the awe-inspiring house, beautiful gardens and exterior landscapes.
The Friends scheme, ready for its third year, sees Castle Howard open the house, gardens and outside spaces to the children of Ryedale Members for free. Friends of Castle Howard who live within Ryedale are able to claim up to three free child passes per Membership.
Hon Nicholas Howard explains this development:
“I grew up at Castle Howard, and the memories of exploring and playing in the grounds still make me smile today. As a family-run estate which is so much a part of life in Ryedale, we wanted to ensure that children from throughout the district can create their own memories here, so we’re offering up to three free child memberships to every adult member of our Friends – whether that is children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews or even neighbours,” comments Nicholas.
The children’s pass offer is open to any existing Friends of Castle Howard who live within the Ryedale District, as well as new Members from the area who wish to join. The scheme replaces the current family membership for Ryedale residents, and is expected to bring many more local families to the estate for days out throughout the seasons. Friends of Castle Howard receive 12 months unlimited admission to the house and gardens, as well as an invitation to previews of major events including Christmas at Castle Howard and the exclusive summer garden party. Other benefits to the Friends scheme include accruing loyalty points when shopping and eating that can be redeemed across all of Castle Howard’s outlets including the Garden Centre, Farm Shop and Butchers.
Friends of Castle Howard membership fees are:
Membership Type:
One Named Adult: £85 (Gold) £55 (Silver)
Two Adults (Either 2 named/1 named + 1 guest): £160 (Gold) £100 (Silver)
Ryedale Friends membership is subject to the named adult having a permanent residential address in Ryedale District.
