Join Father Christmas and Jingles the Magic Elf for a magical performance at Burton Agnes Hall this Christmas
Father Christmas, Mrs Claus and Jingles the Magic Elf will be thrilling children, and adults alike, this Christmas with magical performances of magic, song and storytelling.
Children will be greeted by Mrs Claus in the Great Hall and guided through spectacularly decorated rooms to meet Jingles the Magic Elf, who will perform a show of exciting festive magic. Father Christmas will then greet the children and each child will be presented with a special Christmas gift.
The Audiences with Father Christmas will take place on Saturdays 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd December at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm. Each event lasts approximately an hour, with an opportunity afterwards for photographs. Tickets are £12.50 per child and include admission to the Hall and gardens. Booking is essential and each child must be accompanied by a paying adult (tickets £10.50 each, which includes admission to Hall and gardens).
Father Christmas will also be visiting Burton Agnes Hall in his courtyard grotto every weekend in December (except Sunday 24th December), from noon until 4pm. Children are invited to post their Christmas wish list and receive a special Christmas gift. There is no need to book, just come along.
After visiting Father Christmas, families are welcome to explore Burton Agnes Hall. The beautiful Elizabethan home will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland, every room gloriously decked with unusual and handmade decorations.
In the courtyard, the cafe will be serving a festive menu, and unusual decorations and Christmas presents can be found in the courtyard shops.

Santa clearly works hard all year around and especially in December when he somehow manages to find the time to visit all of the especially well behaved boys and girls before Christmas and he tells us that the City Cruises York Santa Experience is the most unique venue that he visits in the city.
Your Santa experience begins as you are welcomed into our Grotto, cleverly hidden away underneath the beautiful Lendal Bridge. Upon entering, the Santa Experience Captain will check all of the children off the special list that we receive from Lapland. If you have any pushchairs, then you are welcome to leave these in the safety of our Reindeer Pen (they will all be away on business with Santa at this time so there will be plenty of room).
You will then be warmly greeted by Santa’s good friend Mary Christmas who will gladly show you to your reserved seating and distribute the magic bells.
And we can’t tell you too much more about what happens next, that would spoil the magic. But we can guarantee that Santa Claus himself will find his way aboard and the whole family will have the most wonderful time on board our Santa Experience in 2017.
Each child will be hand delivered a personalised present from Santa whilst everybody on board will enjoy refreshments, fun and surprises, making this a Christmas treat to remember.
Prebooking required by telephone or via the website.

Jack and the Beanstalk
York’s favourite family pantomime is back!
This year York Theatre Royal will be bringing you the ever popular Jack & The Beanstalk, a family favourite featuring a line-up of much loved panto characters – the big bad giant, Patricia the cow and of course, Jack himself.
They are joined by Berwick Kaler, the nation’s longest running consecutive panto dame who is widely acclaimed to be the best in the land.
The traditional family panto sees the return of Martin Barrass, who has played the dame’s on-stage ‘son’ for more than 30 years but was missing from last year’s Cinderella line-up after being seriously injured in a road traffic accident.
Now fully-recovered, he’ll join other long-time panto stars, including the villainous David Leonard and the ever-youthful Suzy Cooper.
Once again we’ve assembled the theatre’s dream team who will conjure up all that amazing magic and sparkle loved by generations of panto fans.
Berwick Kaler said: “It’s a traditional title with all the freedom and scope to turn it into the funniest version ever inflicted on an audience in search of a plot!”
