Hailing from Hull and heading to Bridlington, actress Gemma Oaten will be casting a magical spell over audiences playing the role of the misguided witch Mauvaise. Cheerfully, the production promises a happy ever after ending as the bullying witch meets her retribution in true pantomime style!

Emerald the Elf and Father Christmas 2023!
Come and join Emerald the Elf as she gets ready for Christmas – there is always something she needs some help with in our interactive show suitable for all ages.
Ticket prices remain at £5 per person and include our interactive show, a visit to see Santa afterwards and a gift for every child.
The show lasts roughly 30 minutes.

Back for its third year, popular immersive installation, Grue by Wintercroft, returns! Produced by ARCADE, with funding from Arts Council England, Yorkshire Coast Bid and North Yorkshire Council, Grue is a fantastical world, made entirely from recycled and repurposed cardboard.
Grue invites audiences to step into a fantastical world and explore a series of enchanting landscapes. Now a well- established seasonal tradition, this year the magical wintery experience has a new home for 2023. This year Grue is accessed by a secret magical door on the top floor of Scarborough Library and also features live actors as storytelling guides.
Grue is designed by Scarborough artist, Steve Wintercroft – designer, visual artist and the founder of Wintercroft, an environmentally conscious design company specialising in helping people explore creativity through making.

This years pantomime at Hull New Theatre is Cinderella. Runs 16th December 2023 to 7th January 2024.
You shall go to the ball this Christmas with singer, TV actor and musical theatre star Lee Mead and Hull panto favourite Neil Hurst, in the spectacular family pantomime Cinderella. They will be joined by Yorkshire Wicked Sisters Peter Peverley and Jack Land Noble, West End performer Rebekah Lowings as the title role, Spin as Dandini and Olivia Mitchell as the Fairy Godmother.

Thor the Walrus is off on his holidays. He’s booked a few nights down South, then a short stop in Scarborough for New Year before he heads home to the ice and snow of the North Pole.
But for now, he’s looking for a good spot on the shore for a quick snooze, a nice seaside snack to fill his big belly, and he’s hoping he’ll make some new friends along the way…

Pickering Musical Society is excited to announce that their 2024 annual pantomime will be Aladdin written by Ron Hall and directed by Luke Arnold.
In the bustling streets of Old Peking, a cast of characters unfolds, including Wishee Washee, the offspring of the town’s laundry proprietor, and the fair Princess Lotus Blossom. Aladdin, son of a local tradesman, finds himself hopelessly enamored with the princess. However, her caretaker One Long Pong and domineering mother forbid their love. In a bid to win her heart, Aladdin embarks on a journey with his uncle Abanazar, only to be locked away in a cavernous tomb. But a stroke of luck befalls him as the Slave of the Ring hears his plea and offers a path to freedom. Meanwhile, Abanazar abducts Lotus and takes her to the arid dunes of Sahara. With the help of his kin, Aladdin rescues his love and defeats Abanazar. The tale concludes with a joyous feast, a testament to the triumph of love and the indomitable human spirit.
