Father Christmas at Beningbrough
Storytime with Father Christmas – Shrunk in the Wash
7 – 22 December 2024, Saturdays and Sundays

Join Father Christmas for ‘Shrunk in the Wash’ – a brand new tale in the Victorian laundry. Book your place on a group experience with storytelling, a chat and gift from the man in red.

Father Christmas is visiting Beningbrough for one last time in the Victorian laundry before he moves to the hall next year. Hear him tell the new story of his latest laundry mishaps as he prepares for the big day ahead.

During each thirty minute session, every child will have a special moment to chat with Father Christmas and tell him the wonderful things they’ve been up to this year… and maybe share their gift ‘wish list’. Feel free to bring along a letter if you like!

There will be presents for the children at the end of the experience and the chance to take some festive snaps to remember the moment.

£12.50 per child, £6 per adult plus normal admission charges apply/free to National Trust members and under fives.

Aladdin

Sponsored by Boyes

Friday 29th November – Saturday 28th December 2024

This Christmas we’re revisiting another classic. The story of a poor boy from a distant land, tricked by a sorcerer into retrieving a remarkable lamp from a magical cave… we all know this one.

Or do we…?

Because what if that cave was more magical than Aladdin or the sorcerer had ever imagined? What if the cave he wandered into isn’t the cave he wanders out of? What if, in fact, Aladdin finds himself outside Hairy Bob’s cave on a cold winter’s night?

A wind ravaged Marine Drive is no place for a lad in threadbare clothes and sandals. He’ll need to get from Scarboresia (oh yes) back to his home, but it’ll take more than a genie’s three wishes – especially when he’s blown the first two on hot chocolate and a Parka!

From the team who brought you Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast, expect a brand new adventure packed with silliness, thrills, spills, singalongs and fantastical family fun.

Whether it’s the real thing or a fabulous fake, choose the perfect Christmas tree at Yorkshire Garden Centres.

The bestseller – Nordmann firs are low needle drop and boast a lovely symmetrical shape, dense branches and glossy, dark green needles that are soft to touch – perfect if you have little ones!

The original – Known as the classic tree, the Norway Spruce is a beautiful shape with a lovely scent but won’t hold its needles well, so must be kept cold.

The slimline – Fraser Firs have upturned branches and are trimmed to create a narrow shape. This silvery green fir has excellent needle retention and a good scent.

The distinctive – Lasiocarpa, the Rocky Mountain Fir, has a blue hue with soft needles and a delightful citrus scent.

Top tip – Water your cut tree daily.

Alternatively browse our forest full of artificial Christmas trees to find your festive focal point.
