Join Father Christmas and Jingles the Magic Elf for a magical performance at Burton Agnes Hall this December
Father Christmas, Mrs Claus and Jingles the Magic Elf will be thrilling children and adults alike this Christmas with a programme of entertaining performances of magic, storytelling and song. Children will be greeted by Mrs Claus in the Great Hall and guided through wonderfully decorated rooms to meet Jingles the Magic Elf, who will perform a show of festive magic. Father Christmas will then greet the children and each child will be presented with a special Christmas gift.
The Audiences with Father Christmas will take place on Saturdays 8th, 15th and 22nd December and Sunday 23rd December, with performances at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm each day. Each event lasts approximately an hour, with an opportunity afterwards for photographs. Tickets are £12.50 per child and include admission to the Hall and gardens. Booking is essential and each child must be accompanied by a paying adult (tickets £10.50 each, which includes Hall and gardens admission).
Father Christmas will also be visiting Burton Agnes Hall in his courtyard grotto each Christmas opening weekend in December (except 1st and 2nd, 29th and 30th) from noon until 4pm. Children are invited to post their Christmas wish list and receive a special Christmas gift. There is no need to book, just come along.
After visiting Father Christmas, families are welcome to explore Burton Agnes Hall. The beautiful Elizabethan home will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland, every room gloriously decked with unusual and handmade decorations. In the courtyard, the café will be serving a festive menu, and unusual decorations and Christmas presents can be found in the courtyard shops.

Enjoy a treemendous start to the festive season on Saturday 1st December, when Scampston’s Christmas trees go on sale.
Christmas trees have been grown at Scampston and on a partner farm at Lowthorpe, near Driffield, for decades. When a tree is harvested, another is planted in its place, ensuring the production of our trees is entirely sustainable.
Nigel Harrison, head woodsman: “It takes a surprising amount of time to cultivate your perfect Christmas tree, every foot can take up to a year to grow – and there is a lot of pruning to get the right shape. We like to think that our local trees have a little more personality than your average tree!”
Trees will be on sale daily 10am – 4pm in Scampston Walled Garden (YO17 8NG) and also the Woodsman’s Cottage, Lowthorpe (YO25 4AU). Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01944 759111 for more information. Delivery is available on request. Annual members of Scampston Walled Garden are entitled to a 10% discount on their Christmas tree.
