Henry and I went to see The Grand Old Dame of York on Friday night. Henry has written the review as i thought it would be helpful to hear exactly what a 6 year old thought…we had a lovely evening and it was nice to spend some time, just the two of us! The programme has been a big hit with some kids activities which he has really enjoyed.
“Berwick Kaler has been in the York Theatre Royal panto for 40 years. It was my first time at the York Theatre Royal pantomime, everyone else had been going for years.
The last song was Babby Bairns doo doo doo doo doo, like Baby Shark, my favourite!
Les Miserable was Mummy’s favourite, he made us laugh. I’m glad he isn’t my dentist! It would be hard to get Eliza into the Dentist now if she had come.
My favourite bit was when Les Miserable sprayed miserable gas on his patients.
My favourite bit about the film, in the second half, was hen the Dame fell in the wheelie dustbin.
It was fun and the audience laughed lots. Amazing songs and dancing. It was a late night, but nice to do something with Mummy. It finished with everyone cheering and the audience all standing for an amazing Dame!”
Visit Ryedale Mumbler Instagram to see the hand written version! I have slightly changed the order for ease of reading and altered a few spellings!
The Grand Old Dame of York runs until 2nd February 2019
