2 Fun Taiko Drumming workshops for kids on Thursday 30th May
(May half term)
At Helmsley Arts Centre, York
10am – 12pm for ages 8 to 12
1pm – 4pm for ages 13 to 16
Come and have a go at the exciting art of Japanese Taiko drumming, which combines elements of music, rhythm, dance and martial arts.
A fun and energetic workshop to learn a complete piece to play together as a group.
Suitable for beginners. No experience needed and all equipment provided.

What’s involved?
Both workshops will include an introduction to Taiko drumming, going through the basics and some drills to help with rhythm and movement. We will then teach some simple patterns which can be put together to form a complete piece to play.
What do you need?
Comfortable non restrictive clothing, lots of energy and enthusiasm
and a drink to keep you hydrated. All equipment is provided.
How much is it?
Age 8 to 12 (10am – 12pm): £10
Ages 13 – 16 (1pm – 4pm): £15
