POSTPONED – Middleham Open Day

April 10, 2020

POSTPONED due to Covid-19

ARC Middleham Open Day is a celebration of horseracing in one of the sport’s most beautiful training centres.  A unique and exciting day out for racing fans of all ages, the day starts with open yards from 9.30am until 1.00pm, followed by a full programme of fun on Low Moor from 1.30pm, including an ROR (Retraining of Racehorses) Parade and the Inter Yard Challenge.

Household Cavalry stalwart Trooper Middleham will be visiting Middleham marketplace, the Low Moor and his temporary home at Stef and Barry Keniry’s Warwick Lodge Stables throughout the day.  Not be outdone, celebrity Shetland Little Alf will be based in the centre of Middleham too with his mum and carer, Hannah Russell, who is a best-selling author.

Those opening their doors to the public include the UK’s most prolific trainer Mark Johnston, who will be laying on swimming demonstrations throughout the morning at his Kingsley House yard. Multiple Group 1 winning trainer Karl Burke will also open his yard at Spigot Lodge, giving first look at his impressive string for the season.  Don’t miss the chance to meet Micky Hammond’s stable star, Grade 1 winner, Cornerstone Lad or the opportunity to have a close look around the yard of one of the country’s most up and coming trainers, Ben Haslam.  With one of the most beautiful set ups in the north, James Bethell’s Thorngill Stables at Coverham is another not to be missed.

With a range of superb shopping stalls and a variety of food and drink on offer, ARC Middleham Open Day is ready to welcome you for an unforgettable family day out.

Tickets start from £8.50 for concessions and £12.50 for adults, with under 16s getting in free.  Tickets are on sale now at www.middlehamopenday.co.uk.
