The plant centre will have displays of more than 200 varieties of fruit, including many rare and heritage varieties of apples, pears, plums, medlar, quince, and nuts. You’ll be able to taste a range of fruit and order your fruit tree, or buy freshly-picked fruit from the orchards, including some varieties that you may never have heard of – but which are truly scrumptious!
You can talk to RV Roger’s experts, who will help you select the right fruit for your garden, and the ones that best suit your taste. You can find out everything from how to plan your orchard, to getting advice with seasonality and storage; how to choose a heritage or local variety; and what the difference is between a tree, a fan, and an espalier.
Admission to the Plant Centre and the apple displays is free. The Plant Centre will be open from 10am each day, with activities and demonstrations for everyone throughout the weekend. Hot drinks and tasty snacks will be available from The Drink Stop, alongside apple juicing demonstrations from Treetop Press, who will also be selling their gorgeous cordials, drinks, and home-made breads.
