Hallows, Saints and Souls
Delve into the mysterious world of folklore, ancient beliefs and forgotten practices as you explore Ryedale Folk Museum this half term.

Monday 29 October
Apothecary for Beginners: 10:30am-11:30am & 1:30pm-2:30pm
Visit our pop-up apothecary and try your hand at mixing your own potion.
Traditional Broomstick Making Workshop: 12pm-1pm & 3pm-4pm
Discover the skills needed to make a traditional ‘witches’ broomstick as you create your own to take, or fly, away – followed by a short flying lesson.

Tuesday 30 October
Terrific Tales: 11am, 1pm & 3pm
Join our resident ‘teller of tales’ as she shares the folklore of the area. Suitable for children aged 5 years and over.

Wednesday 31 October
Willow Wand Workshop: 11am-1pm
Learn how to create your own willow woven wand, ready for spell casting tonight!
‘Soul Cake’ Cookery: 2pm-3pm
Discover the ancient tradition of ‘souling’ as you get hands on in this cookery workshop.
Visit for free if you bring your valid annual pass. The above timed sessions are offered on a drop-in basis – first come, first served. Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
