The Little Cook Company kindly gave me a bakedin Sticky Toffee Cake Kit to try! Well, what can I say, it was awesome! The main event, the eating, it was delicious! The whole family; big, medium and small loved it with the perfect accompaniment, ice cream.
On opening the box, it was all weighed out in designated packets with the instructions easy to follow and good to make with children. Both Henry (5) and Eliza (3) loved helping. I had a do a few bits on the cooker but that was no problem. When it came to the cooking, they were in charge of the timer (slightly risky but it paid off!).
In the packet was a handy, butter weigher (a piece of cardboard with designated widths relating to butter weight). Really handy and meant that I didn’t have to get the scales dirty – winner.
It did include dates for those with a nut allergy but there are other puddings available such as Choc Mallow Melt Cookie Kit and Double Choc Brownie.
It was really easy, the timings on the box were pretty much right. It genuinely did take 10 mins to prepare using only the things provided in the box plus an egg, milk, water and the butter (not one of these recipes that claim they can be made in 30 mins and one hour later you are still fighting to complete having used every utensil and cooking appliance you own so are therefore faced with a mountain of washing up!).
This is a lovely gift for a child or something you can do together with your own child. They cost £9.
