We have just been to the opening show of Dick Whittington at the Milton Rooms, Malton presented by Malton and Norton Musical Theatre to celebrate their 75th Anniversary!
It was full of great dancing, singing, non-stop jokes and, of course as always, ended happily ever after. It certainly is a wonderful family pantomime that will brighten up anyone’s January!
The characters were brilliant, we each had a favourite.
Idle Jack was definitely Eliza’s favourite because he was great fun, certainly getting the audience engaged – “Pull Your Socks Up Jack”. We all really enjoyed the bucket game on the ship with Dame Dolly Dumpling.
Tom was awesome, with the feline dance movements and portrayed Dick’s faithful cat to a tee.
Dick’s singing certainly stole the show. We were all in awe as the songs kept on coming and were perfectly delivered.
Dame Dolly Dumpling was hilarious, with jokes for all ages and as always held the show together. Just brilliant and never misses a beat. Listen carefully, there are plenty of jokes for the adults! Our friend Richard’s appearance on the stage was a highlight and certainly got ALOT of laughs from this area of the audience! A big shout out for the great ventriloquism.
The dancers, from junior upwards were brilliant and certainly a great credit to Kirkham Henry.
There are loads of songs, dancing and fun to keep you entertained. As well as a lot of fantastic colourful costumes. We have seen every MNMT Pantomime since running Ryedale Mumbler and this certainly is one of our favourites. We highly recommend you trying to catch a performance this week. It runs until 27th January 2024. BOOK HERE
